1.1 - 10DLC Registration

What is 10DLC?

10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) is a system in the U.S. that allows businesses to send SMS messages using standard 10-digit phone numbers. It improves message deliverability and reduces spam by requiring registration and carrier vetting for business text messaging.

Steps to setup:

  1. Open the invitation from your email to join Hatch, and set up your account by entering your first and last name, phone number, and finalize the setup.

  2. In the Compliance tab, click Add Business.

  3. Enter your 9-digit Business EIN or Tax ID.

  4. If you typed it correctly, other fields might auto-fill for you.

  5. Once all of the required fields are filled in, click Save Draft.

  6. Click Submit.

Within 2 business days, you’ll get an update: approved 🎉 or rejected 🚫.

If you get rejected, no stress — reach out to your Account Manager and they’ll walk you through exactly what to fix.

Today, we're going to walk through how to register your 10-digit long code, better known as 10DLC. This step is super important. It's mandatory before you can access your account. Why? Because it's how we make sure your company can comply and we send text messages to your customers.

Alright, let's dive in. First, we'll make sure you set up your hatch account. Just open the invitation from your email and set up your account by entering your first and last name. Phone number, and setting your password to finalize the setup.

Now for the fun part. Let's get you registered. From the co- compliance tab, you'll click add business. Here, you'll be prompted to submit your business information.

The very first thing you'll enter is your nine digit business E-I-N, or tax ID. If you type in correctly, the rest of the fields might auto-fill for you. But this is just for the demo. I'm gonna use a fake number, so I can show you what it looks like when you fill everything in yourself. Once you type in the number at the top, and it does not- up. Fill in for you. You would just need to enter your business name, business type, customer type, business industry, and your website. After that, enter your business address. And then enter The contact information of the owner or member as it appears on taxes.

Once that's all in, click save draft, and then submit. Now, you'll just wait a little bit. About two business days after submission, you'll get an approval or rejection. If you get a rejection, no stress. Just reach out to your account manager, and they'll walk you through exactly what to fix. And that's it. You're all set to get your 10 DLC approved, and start sending compliant texts to your customers.

Thanks for watching.
